The Prime Minister had been talking about the tackling the global economic slump when his phone started ringing.
He broke off from speaking about measures to maintain jobs and rebuild business and said: “I’m afraid that’s my phone ringing.”
Breaking the serious mood of the press conference at Davos a journalist asked the Prime Minister who was trying to call him.
He laughed and said: “I’m not telling you”.
Gordon Brown’s second bail-out of the banking system, announced earlier this month, has drawn heavy criticism for leaving taxpayers’ on the hook for billions of pounds of losses and driving Britain’s national debt to a record.
