Autumn scents that will transport you to cloud nine.

Lola £45 for 50ml eau de parfum, by Marc Jacobs (0800 652 7661). A heady hit of fruit – pink grapefruit and pear, along with pink peppercorn – gives way to vanilla, musk and tonka bean. An evening fragrance – one we predict fans of Daisy, Jacobs’ daytime scent, will love.
L’eau ambree £63.12 for 80ml eau de parfum, by Prada (020 7494 6220). Miuccia Prada’s fashion is known for being quirky. The same goes for her scent. Classic, deep amber has been lifted with two unlikely pairings, Sicilian lemon and May rose. It shouldn’t work but it does .
Woman £55 for 50ml eau de toilette, by Halston, from Harrods (020 7730 1234). After the relaunch last year of Halston womenswear comes a version of the house scent from the 1970s – a blend of patchouli and modern rose. It’s still in the Elsa Peretti-designed bottle, too .
Beige £160 for 200ml eau de toilette, by Chanel (020 7493 3836). As you’d expect from the House of Chanel, this blend of white flowers is terribly, terribly elegant and discreet. Lily, heliotrope, ylang-ylang and jasmine are teamed with powdery musk. Sophistication in a (beautiful) bottle .
Intense £55 for 50ml eau de parfum, by Chloe (0800 083 6312). Chloé’s latest rose scent doesn’t hit the shops for another month, but we thought you’d want fair warning. Rose is blended with pink pepper and sandalwood for an intoxicating scent with a sparkling finish .
Nude £43 for 50ml eau de toilette, by Stella McCartney, from department stores. Who says winter fragrance has to be heavy-duty? Not Ms McCartney, whose evocative new scent is a subtle blend of Moroccan rose, peony and amber. We like. A lot .
White Patchouli £108 for two 5ml phials eau de parfum, by Tom Ford (0870 034 2566). Ford, that master of rebranding, has worked his magic on patchouli, taking a traditionally heady ingredient and lightening it with bergamot and white peony .
