And who feels discord now or sorrow?

Love is the universe to-day--

Percy Bysshe Shelley

Fragment: Love The Universe To-Day

And who feels discord now or sorrow?

Love is the universe to-day--

These are the slaves of dim to-morrow,

Darkening Life's labyrinthine way.

Fragment: Apostrophe To Silence

Silence! Oh, well are Death and Sleep and Thou

Three brethren named, the guardians gloomy-winged

Of one abyss, where life, and truth, and joy

Are swallowed up—yet spare me, Spirit, pity me,

Until the sounds I hear become my soul,

And it has left these faint and weary limbs,

To track along the lapses of the air

This wandering melody until it rests

Among lone mountains in some...

Fragment: Is It That In Some Brighter Sphere

Is it that in some brighter sphere

We part from friends we meet with here?

Or do we see the Future pass

Over the Present’s dusky glass?

Or what is that that makes us seem

To patch up fragments of a dream,

Part of which comes true, and part

Beats and trembles in the heart?
