Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Friday said that the Iranian nation would create a bright and progressive future, the official IRNA news agency reported.
"By taking decisive and revolutionary decisions, the Iranian nation would create a bright and progressive future", Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying.
The Iranian nation has always been ready to be present and participate in all activities in the past three decades (since Iran 's Islamic Revolution in 1979 gained victory over the U.S. ally Shah regime), he said.
Ahmadinejad made the remarks while he was talking to the reporters after casting his vote in a mosque in southeastern Tehran in the country's Presidential elections.
"The presence of the Iranian people (in the country's socio-political scene) would pave the way for doing great works and making more serious decisions in all arenas".
Polling stations across Iran opened Friday morning for voting in the country's presidential election which pits incumbent President against three other candidates.
