Born in Bilzen, Belgium, Clijsters is the daughter of Belgian international footballer Leo Clijsters.

Belgian Kim Clijsters beat Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark 7-5, 6-3 to win the U.S. Open women's title on Sunday.

Clijsters, who came back from two years of retirement, took only 93 minutes to win her second grad slam crown, following her first here in 2005.

Clijsters won 2-0.
