Cunda
Cunda (Alibey) Island, is located eight kilometers from Ayvalik by road and three miles by sea, the bridge connection has transformed the island into a peninsula.
Cunda (Alibey) Island (Turkey) is encircled by a natural beach and all along the shore there are scores of restaurants-both large and small-serving up fresh fish. The island is also covered in olive groves. The largest of an archipelago of 20 islands not far from Lesvos, Alibey (sometimes called Cunda after its town) is a lovely island covered for the most part with fragrant pine trees and well endowed with beaches.
All the churches dating from before the population exchange are now in ruins, but the town is otherwise attractive with winding cobbled streets and superb fish restaurants.
